The Virtues of Writing Salawat in the Book ~ Hi, dear readers! In the previous article, I explained why Salawat is important. As Muslims, it is essential for us to understand this. Did you know that Salawat is a highly beneficial form of Dhikr for Muslims? One example of this is when Muslims write Salawat in a book. That is the focus of this article, so be sure to read it until the end.

Before I delve deeper into the virtues of writing Salawat in a book, I want to clarify that this practice is rooted in valid teachings of Islam. The essence of this practice lies in the fact that the Prophet Muhammad encouraged Muslims to engage in it. This is why there are numerous hadiths explaining its significance. However, I will not quote all of them in this article; I will only cite two hadiths.

Hadith About Writing Salawat in the Book

The two hadiths regarding writing Salawat in a book are as follows:

From Abu Hurairah, radliyallahu anhu, he said, "Allah's Messenger (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, ‘Whoever writes Salawat for me in a book, the angels will continue to ask forgiveness for him as long as my name remains in the book.'"

From Ibn Abbas, radliyallahu anhu, he said, "The Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, ‘Whoever writes Salawat for me in a book, then the Salawat will become ‘Amal Jariyah' (deeds whose rewards continue to flow) for him as long as my name is in the book.'"

Conclusion

Dear Readers! If we have understood the two hadiths above, we can conclude several important points:

  • Salawat is one of the excellent forms of Dhikr, and those who read or write it will receive a great reward.
  • The first and second hadiths explain that if someone writes Salawat in a book, the angels will ask forgiveness for that person, and that Salawat will become “Amal Jariyah” (deeds whose rewards continue to flow) for him.
