The Meaning of Surah Quraysh | The Explanation You're Looking For

The Meaning of Surah Quraysh ~ Hi all readers! Maybe you already know what Quraysh is. The word “Quraysh” is the name of an Arabic tribe. Prophet Muhammad was born to a husband and wife who came from this tribe. This tribe is a small tribe that occupies a very strategic area in the ancient Arab region. After Islam developed rapidly, this tribe had a huge influence on the life of the ancient Arabs.

But the word “Quraysh” is also the name of one of the surah names in the Quran. In general, the surah explained the life of the Quraysh tribe. Of course, as Muslims, we must know that. That’s why I wrote this article. So, you have to read this article to the end.

As usual, before I explain the meaning of Surah Quraysh, I want to explain that the surah is Makiyah. The point is that Allah sent the surah to the Prophet Muhammad before he migrated to Medina. In the surah, there are four verses, seventeen sentences, and seventy-three letters.

The verses of surah Quraysh that I mean is as follows;

For the accustomed security of the Quraysh [1] Their accustomed security [in] the caravan of winter and summer [2] Let them worship the Lord of this House [3] Who has fed them, [saving them] from hunger and made them safe, [saving them] from fear [4]. (Quraysh [106]; 1-4).

The Meaning of Surah Quraysh

(لِإِيلَٰفِ قُرَيۡشٍ) The point is because of the custom of the Quraysh people.

(إِۦلَٰفِهِمۡ) The sentence is reinforcement for the previous sentence.

(رِحۡلَةَ ٱلشِّتَآءِ وَٱلصَّيۡفِ) The point is (due to the custom of the Quraysh) who travel in the summer and winter. You must know that the economic foundation of the Quraysh is trading. In general, they trade to Sham and several other regions. They departed from the Hejaz by bringing goods to sell in Sham and other regions, and bought some goods to sell in Hijaz. They do that in summer and winter.

(فَلۡيَعۡبُدُواْ رَبَّ هَٰذَا ٱلۡبَيۡتِ) The point is, that because they have had great success from trading, they must worship God who owns this house (Ka’bah).

(ٱلَّذِيٓ أَطۡعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٖ) The point is that the God in question is the God who has given them food so that they do not starve.

(وَءَامَنَهُم مِّنۡ خَوۡفِۢ) The point is that the Lord has also given them a sense of security from fear. God in question is Allah.
