How to Perform Wudu for Females? The Explanation You're Looking For
How to Perform Wudu for Females? ~ Hi all readers! I am very sure that you have heard what Wudu is. Without Wudu, some obligatory rituals, such as obligatory prayers (Fajr prayer, Dhuhr prayer, etc.), and recommended rituals, sunnah prayers, (Qabliyah prayer, Ba'diyah prayer, etc.), are not allowed.
In several previous articles, I have explained many things about Wudu. In this article, I will explain one important thing that is often asked by Muslims, especially women; how to perform Wudu for females?
If we read Islamic legal literacy about Wudu, then we will know that there is actually no difference between Wudu for women and Wudu for men. It means that they all have to do the things that are obligatory in Wudu, such as Niyyah, washing their faces, and so on. They are also allowed to do or not do the things recommended in ablution, such as gargling, inhaling water into the nose, and so on. And, something that is also very important is that they should not do anything that can break Wudu as long as they need to be in a pure state (to have wudu).
The Niyyah for Wudu for Females
If someone asks you, how to perform Wudu for females? Then the answer is as follows:
The Niyyah for Wudu is as follows;
I intend to do wudu to lift a small hadas, (I did it because of) obligation, because of Allah Taala.
How to Perform Wudu for Females?
We can find an explanation of the mechanism for performing Wudu for females as taught by the Prophet Muhammad in the following hadiths;
From Hamran, Uthman did ablution. He washed his palms three times. Then he rinsed, put a little water into his nose and removed the water from his nose. Then he washed his face three times. Then he washed his right hand to the elbow three times. Then his left hand is like that (like his right hand). Then he rubbed his head. Then he washed his right foot until his ankles three times. Then his left leg like that. then he said, "I have seen the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam do wudu like this ablution." The hadith is narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
From Ali radliyallahu anhu about the nature of ablution the Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. He said, "He (Prophet Muhammad) wiped his head once." The hadith was narrated by Abu Daud.
From Abdullah bin Amru radliyallahu ahuma about the nature of ablution. He said, "Then he (the Prophet Muhammad) rubbed his head and put two index fingers into two ears and he rubbed the outside of his ears with two thumbs up." The hadith is narrated by Abu Daud and an-Nasa'i.
There are two other important points about Wudu that I would like to explain here. I think all Muslims should know these two things;
- Wudu is one of the most special rituals that only the Prophet Muhammad has.
We can find an explanation of that in the hadith below;
From Abu Hurairah radliyallahu anhu, he said, "I have heard the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said, "Verily my people on the Day of Judgment come with white light in all members of the ablution (limbs washed and wiped in wudlu) from the former ablution. Whoever of you can prolong his white light, then let him do that."The hadith is narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
- We are strongly encouraged to perfect Wudu.
We can find an explanation of that in the hadith below;
From Anas bin Malik radliyallahu anhu, he said," The Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alaihi wa sallam once saw someone on his feet there was something like a nail that was not doused with water. He then said, "Come back and complete your ablution!" The hadith is narrated by Abu Daud and an-Nasa'i.
